Austin (he/they) is an experimental live performance artist, director, and self described “renaissance faire guy” who has been an active supporter of the ATXtheatre community from a young age. His favorite non-Speedrun projects include The Baker, Sam Carmichael, work with Camp Half-Blood Austin, 5 years in the Haunted House industry, and current work as an activist and fundraiser for environmental and refugee causes. As founder of Speedrun, he is committed to uplifting creative young voices from across the city he loves, and is honored to be building this proud, brave, aggressively supportive community alongside such a supportive team.
Clint (he/him) is a nomadic theatre artist currently based in North Carolina. Having performed all over the country, he is excited to finally have a theatre company to call "home base". He has been in the theatre, either treading the boards or helping out backstage as an electrician, stage manager, director, choreographer, or pyrotechnician, for over two decades. As Associate Creative Director and Producer, he is committed to providing a safe a supportive place for young artists to find their creative voice in a variety of productions, and there's no team he'd rather do it with!
Desmond (they/them) is a non-binary, interdisciplinary theatre designer and dance artist. In addition to their duties as production manager of Speedrun Studios, Desmond works as the technical coordinator of the School of Dance at UNCG. In Austin, Desmond worked as a freelance lighting designer and as the adjunct professor of theater technology and design at Concordia University Texas. Desmond has worked in theater technology since 2012 and stage management since 2014. They hold an M.F.A. in lighting design from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Theatre and minor in dance from Samford University.
Preston (he/him) has spent the past 7 years both on and behind the stage. From portraying characters in shows like Tartuffe and The Lightning Thief, to serving as fight captain on multiple shows, operating a puppet here and there, technical directing, and serving as set and light crew, Preston enjoys tackling a wide variety of roles and loves to help bring a production together.
Ashley (she/her) is an ATX-based theatre artist with experience performing, choreographing, and directing in the area. She is a current Junior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Human Dimensions of Organizations, with minors in History and Sociology. As Speedrun’s Treasurer, she aims to contribute to the company’s longevity and allow it to flourish for years to come!
Sera (she/they) has been in human resources and people operations for the last 6 years, and graduated from Texas State in 2021 with a BBA in business management. They have been in theater since high school, and involved in multiple productions both on and off stage. With a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, they are dedicated to ensuring that Speedrun Studios fosters a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all members of the community. Sera is passionate about creating inclusive and equitable work environments, and brings a wealth of experience in talent management and organizational development to the board.
